Our Services

Scanning Services for
New England Projects

From concrete scanning and rebar detection to void detection and subsurface investigations — we provide GPR scanning information before destructive work begins.

Concrete Scanning
GPR imaging of slabs, walls, decks, and structural concrete to help identify embedded objects before cutting, coring, or drilling work begins.
Rebar Detection
Helps locate reinforcing steel layout and approximate depth to support safe drilling, anchor placement, and renovation work in concrete structures.
Post-Tension Cable Detection
Helps identify post-tension cables in PT concrete slabs — critical information before any coring, cutting, or penetration work on post-tensioned structures.
Conduit Locating
Helps identify the location of embedded electrical conduit, piping, and other obstructions before drilling or coring through concrete.
Void Detection
GPR scanning to help identify subsurface voids, delamination, and anomalies in concrete slabs, pavements, and subsurface structures.

The Technology

Advanced GPR
Concrete Imaging

Ground Penetrating Radar uses high-frequency electromagnetic pulses to help identify what may be embedded inside concrete — in real time, on-site, without damage to the structure.

Provides real-time imaging of concrete interiors during the scan — no destructive testing required
Helps identify rebar, post-tension cables, conduit, voids, and other detectable embedded targets
Safe for use indoors, around personnel, and near sensitive equipment
Findings are marked on the surface and documented — written reports available as a premium deliverable
Scanning results depend on site conditions, concrete density, moisture, depth, and reinforcement density

Connecticut CBYD / 811 Requirement

Under Connecticut law, any contractor or individual planning to excavate using power or mechanized equipment must notify Call Before You Dig (CBYD) by calling 811 or visiting cbyd.com at least two full business days before digging begins. CBYD is administered by the CT Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA). GPR scanning can provide additional private subsurface investigation support but does not replace the required CBYD notification process for excavation work.

All Services

What We Scan For

Our GPR scanning services are focused on the capabilities of professional concrete scanning equipment. Findings depend on site conditions, material type, access, depth, and other factors.

Rebar Detection
Helps identify reinforcing steel location and approximate depth to support safe anchor drilling, post-installed connections, and renovation work. Useful for both regular reinforced concrete and irregular rebar layouts.
Post-Tension Cable Detection
Helps identify post-tension tendons in PT slab structures before any coring, cutting, or penetration. Striking a post-tension cable can cause serious structural damage — scanning before the work starts is critical.
Conduit Locating
Helps identify embedded electrical conduit, communications conduit, and piping within concrete before drilling or coring. Reduces risk of cutting through active systems embedded in the slab.
Void Detection
GPR scanning to help identify subsurface voids, air pockets, delamination, and anomalies in concrete slabs and pavements. Useful for structural assessment and renovation planning.
Slab Scanning
Comprehensive concrete slab scanning — floor slabs, roof decks, parking structures, bridge decks, and elevated slabs. Wide-area and targeted scanning available based on scope.
Subsurface Investigation
General subsurface GPR investigation for projects requiring information about what may be below grade before excavation, utility work, or site development activity.
Concrete Imaging
Real-time GPR concrete imaging to support structural assessments, renovation planning, construction quality review, and pre-demolition investigation work.

Service Limitations & Important Notes

GPR scanning provides field information to help support safer decision-making — it does not guarantee detection of all subsurface objects. Scan findings depend on site conditions, concrete composition, moisture content, reinforcement density, target depth, access, and other factors. Depth indications are approximate. Results should be interpreted by qualified personnel. For excavation work in Connecticut, CBYD/811 notification is required by law and is not replaced by GPR scanning.
